The functional design and structural integration of our ULTIMATE engine guard protect the engine housing, oil sump and headers. It fits so closely around the engine that not only is the frontal impact area optimised, but ground and lean angle clearance remain virtually unchanged. The shape reduces the risk of snagging or levering in off-road terrain, whether from branches, scree or rocks. Openings ensure that any water taken on during river crossings can drain away freely.

The angled impact plates deflect stones or foreign objects thrown up by the front wheel, significantly reducing the risk of damage to the headers and engine. Another advantage of this engine guard is that it deflects splashing water thrown up in waves downwards, particularly when the engine is hot, to significantly reduce thermal stress on the engine housing, headers and seals.

The complex form and geometry of the component are the result of optimising material thickness and weight, while achieving high structural rigidity and mechanical stability. The result is a robust, weight- and shape-optimised engine guard that fits so closely and organically around the engine that the “form follows function” design principle becomes evident.
