Our EXTREME cases and top cases are anything but mass-produced – quite the opposite! They are made for us in small batches, crafted piece by piece with great attention to detail in the workshops of experienced master craftsmen. These professionals, like us, attach great importance to the highest quality and precision.
This effort is worthwhile, as an EXTREME case or top case gives you a practical and functional tool of lasting quality. Function and product features
- EXTREME slimline – the cases are 80 mm narrower overall, offering a total storage volume of 71 litres – ideal for urban areas with dense traffic or demanding off-road sections
- Handling becomes noticeably more agile thanks to the lower centre of gravity of the slimline cases compared with conventional panniers
- Top loader: easy to load from above
- Lids can be opened either forwards or backwards, or removed completely
- Stainless steel locking system with discreetly embossed Wunderlich brand logo
- The black powder-coated finish gives a technical yet refined appearance
- 100% dust- and waterproof thanks to a special sealing system
- Lashing points on the lid for additional luggage (e.g. Wunderlich top bags ELEPHANT DRYBag #44153-000 or BagPacker II #20790-202 and -302)
- Replaceable corner protectors made of impact-resistant plastic
- Each case requires one pair of locking cylinders
- Locking cylinders are protected against dirt, dust and moisture by removable rubber caps

To ensure you only need one key for your luggage system, we offer matching (keyed alike) locking cylinders. Each case/top case requires one pair of cylinders. Please order the required number of pairs for your cases/top case:
- 30167-500 One pair of locking cylinders (e.g. for a top case)
- 30167-501 Two pairs of locking cylinders (e.g. for a set of cases)
- 30167-502 Three pairs of locking cylinders (for a set of cases and a top case)
Compatible pannier racks
Our EXTREME cases fit the original BMW round-tube pannier racks (for BMW R 1250 GS and Adventure, R 1200 GS LC and Adventure, F 900 GS and Adventure, F 850 GS and Adventure models). For the remaining GS models, we offer corresponding EXTREME pannier racks:

The Wunderlich Tool Design
We offer our EXTREME case sets in a slimline version that is 80 mm narrower in total (40 mm per side), yet still offers an impressive 71 litres of storage volume – compared to 85 litres for the standard EXTREME case set.
This allows you to “surf” elegantly through traffic in busy cities, motorway jams or narrow streets without worrying about catching obstacles or other vehicles. The slimline version also offers advantages in demanding off-road sections, as the lower centre of gravity makes handling noticeably more agile – not only off-road but also on the road – compared with conventional cases.
Back in the 1980s, adventure travel required extensive preparation and above all, a lot of storage space. Today, tyre repair kits, smartphones, apps, credit cards and much more make things much easier, allowing you to travel with less luggage if you wish.
Thanks to the additional lashing points on the lid, further luggage – such as our Rack Pack bags – can be securely strapped on. The case lids come with practical internal luggage nets as standard, keeping items such as rain gear, tools or a first-aid kit within easy reach.
After opening both front and rear hinge locks, the lid can be completely removed, and the cases can be conveniently loaded from above. If only one lock is opened, the other acts as a hinge, allowing the lid to open forwards or backwards, held in place by a retaining cable.
In the black powder-coated version, the high-quality case looks both technical and elegant.
